8 things about me ....

1. I am a tomboy who truly loves the smell of burning grass, wet dirt and rain. I do however feel a girl in me trying to come out late in life.The tomboy can take her down though.

2. I love to read! I even hold an actual library card and go every 3 weeks. The weird part about that, I love true crime books. I want to know why people behave the way they do. I want to know how such hatred can exist.

3. I am really very optimistic....but I am also a realist. The problem with that is that
1.) I sound whiney when I am just making statements
2.) People think I am trying to bring them down. I am not I just want them to be prepared for other possible outcomes because I don't like seeing my friends in heart wrenching pain...emotional, physical or mental.

4. I have only recently embraced the inner geek in me. Yes I love Sci-Fi, yes I can game with the best of them and you know what I ♥ it!

5. I want to learn to play the flute at some time in my life.

6. I think Facebook is pure evil. (I am agreeing with Jeannie on this) HOWEVER, she has the strength to not even go there. It is evil because those darn ville games are laced with a mind numbing drug. (if you play Frontierville let me know I can always use new neighbors.)

7. I am a cheapskate when it comes to buying stuff for me. I always look for the cheapest clothes, purses, shoes, scrap stuff etc etc. And when I do buy something I want and I love it I wear it or use it until it is literally falling apart at the seams. I am ashamed to admit it but I have had a GAP sweatshirt since before my son was born. Yes I still wear it. I seriously need to put more of an effort into me. LOL

8. I am seriously swinging towards buying Copic markers. I have put it off and haven't broken down. Now that I have achieved my scrap goal to be caught up and I have been asked to front some cards for a friends online store I think I need to finally step up to the plate.

Just for Jeannie Birthday Recap & a surprise

You like how I snuck that in huh ,Jeannie? LOL Seriously she cracks me up people. She is always so excited to see what goodies my family gives me for any occasion and it makes me excited all over again. So here's the loot....I love Gwen Stephani's L.A.M.B. clothing line but alas, not available in my size! Maybe that should be a weight loss goal? When I lose so many pounds treat my self to a shirt and skinny jeans? HMMMM need to consider that. Back on task though. I love her Harajuku lovers purses. I finally got my coveted purse from my hubby for my birthday! That rocked!

My oldest daughter gets my ER obsession and happily added it to my collection. Only the last and final season to go.

My youngest daughter got me the most awesome wallet EVER! Seriously it is a mini purse. It holds everything I need and then some! I only have to carry a purse if I want to!

My parents paid for my trip to Vegas..no complaints there. My son FORGOT so I told him he's disowned LOL just kidding. I had to give him a hard time though.

Then when I got back on the computer I had this waiting for me...

and not just from one person but 2. Wendy from Wendy's crafting Times and Karen from over at Krafty Karen's Blogspot. This is a wonderful birthday surprise I was not expecting! I hope to do it honor!

Now as part of the award I must tell you why I started blogging and pass it on. I am supposed to pass it to 10 people but I don't think I have that many to pass it to so I will do what I can.

I started blogging back in April of 2007 to keep family updated during my husbands deployment. I was random and had no direction. I then decided to turn it into a craft blog but it's still evolving.
I don't have many followers or comments and I think the main reason I keep doing it is that the few I do have are insistent I keep it up! My fierce followers I call them. Here are just a few Wendy is definitely one of them but I don't think I can pass it back. It is truly given in spirit though.

Jeannie- Not only has she surpassed me in paper crafting she is a hoot and a great friend. Check her out here.

Bridgett- She is truly a big huge supporter and a great friend. She inspires me in so many ways! Life is crazy for her right now but you can check her out here.

One i seem to read over and over The Stand by Stephan King. I love the good vs. evil in that story. Then there's the silliest of them all the clasic pooh stories

i collect tatty teddys .Well I did when I was in Germany. It seems you can only get them in Eurpoe and I used to get them off ebay but the selection dwindled.
I also collect sunflower decor and disney anything.

StampTACular Tuesday, Challenge, and a sweet award

If you actually get to read this on Tues night I did something right today. I had my StampTacular card ready this morning I really did. Then computer issues hit until about 7 pm. UGHHH why is is it always when hubby leaves?

I have to apologize here guys I have nothing to share today. Normally it would be my scripture page but Amber is sick so we didn't do our study or pages this week and I have been uber unmotivated. Maybe Maybe I can get a mojo monday card done or something? We shall see. I am going to go work out as that may be the cause of my low energy. I feel icky when I don't work out. So I need to get back in the flow.

Jeanne so graciously handed me this beautiful award. She knows how to make a person feel good about just being them. If you have not read her blog head on over she is truly a happy person and is just a pleasure to have in your daily read. She is utterly amazing. I have only begun to get to know her but she always there to lend an ear or helpful suggestions. Not to mention the recipes she shares and the cutest little Bella boo. I can honestly say thank goodness her hubby is army too ...we stand a chance of actually being posted together somewhere.....preferably Italy so we can be so hip in italian leather together.

The last few months has been really really crazy for me as far as kindred spirits go. So I only have a couple people I will be handing this out too. I don't mean to hurt anyones feelings but as far as connections of people who really get me goes there are only a few people in this world that ever have ,5 tops maybe? Now there are a few more people I would hand this out to but they don't have blogs so here are the lucky 2.

Amber- for someone I have never met in real life we have been kindred spirits for almost 5 years. She makes me laugh everyday and isn't afraid to keep me grounded and lift my spirits when I need it. She truly is one of my biggest supporters , cheerleaders and best friends. She is a gift I cherish always.

Bridgett- This has got to be one of the most gentle people I know. She never has a mean thing to say about anyone . She goes out of her way to help you in anyway she can, she can always find the inspriation I need for my crafting and is definatly one of the most spiritual people I know. I have never met her in real life either , but she comes from the same area as one of my best friends so I hope one day when we all go see them we can meet up with her.

I can not say enough nice things about these ladies. You really have to get to know them to see all they have to offer.

I want to say thank you again to Jeanne. I want her to know that I truly cherish her as well and look forward to a life long friendship together.

Okay here goes 5 things I am utterly obsessed about
1. Crafting - I have lost the mojo here recently LOL ok who am i kidding its going on 2 and a half years. But I really do love it. As long as I am busy with my hands it gives me a sense of accomplishment.
2. Reading- as you ladies can tell when I neglect my blog, give me a good book and I am lost and will not put it down till I finish. If it grabs my attention I will read it.
3. picture frames- I love frames. I have them in every room on every surface in my house.
4. shopping- definitely one female gene I inherited.
5. the color purple- purple is the color of royalty , magic ,and mystery. It also is symbolic of people who are searching for spiritual fulfillment. LOL I am sure people who know me well are laughing now because I am sure they are thinking of my sci fi love, my fantasy love, my complaints of needing to be independantly wealthy , and the fact I am curious of others religions.

Quick update

Sorry ladies I didn't post yesterday because I had an eye appointment and had to get my eyes dialated and wowzers was this screen bright! Not to mention the headache I got because Everything was so bright! Well, I just wanted to say bare with me if I am not posting much I am having a personal situation which I can not share yet and I am just a tad stressed and not up for much chit chat. Have you ever had those situations where you pray and pray for an answer and it seems forever to get it. Well that's where I am right now. Plus I need to start cutting up pictures, send ing packages and cards you know fun holiday stuff, So as I try to get it together I will be here and there.

is for my gift of sight. I was looking at something the other day and was admiring all the bright colors and it hit me without my sight I could not enjoy a lot of the things I do. It is such a precious thing to have .

Today's Thankful 30 is going out to our postal service. Weird? I have started my holiday shopping and I have seen a lot of my mailman here lately. That got me thinking without all their hard work we would not get fun stuff, our coveted cards (even though I am so very late on getting a few sisters birthday cards out! Sorry guys!) , and happy mail. Yes stuff does go missing in their world but lets face it more often then not they come through! So a shout out to you my postal workers I apprecite all you do!

It gets me through the toughest of things. Without the Lord in my life blessing me everyday and giving me the courage to get through the deepest of trials I would not be here today.

2. Of course my family, hubby rocks for all he does (and lack there of sometimes) and I really can not complain aabout my kids. They are kids of course but all and all I think I got some good ones!

3. My parents without all that character building I would not be who I am today.

4. my friends I will leave that one alone as I have said so much about them.

5. my education without it I could not spell, read or, write this blog or anything else for that matter.

6. my life I try to see the good in it everyday. Even when things do not go my way!

Things i do not value

1. People who can not see the joy in life. When you have everything you need ,There is so much in this life to be thankful for that complaining is just wasted energy. I mean we all complain and have bad days , but on a daily basis is a bit much.

2. creepy crawlies I am just not a bug person.

3. when my husband tells me he will do something (dishes, car, trash whatever) and it doesn't get done and I wind up doing it myself and I hear I was gonna do that!

4. warm drinks that were not meant to be warm. Soda is is huge one for me!

5. Packaging on kids toys. Why does it have to have so many twisty ties and rubber bands that the kid has to wait 20 min just to play with it!?
