Finish it Friday ...post a day early

It's the day before Christmas eve and we are off to pick up my Father-in-Law today. It's going to be crazy busy here the next couple days and I just wanted to make sure I shared the last of my cards with you.
I was all about red this year. And Dasher. The combo was a match made in Heaven.

This is an old old Stampin up set I bought off Ebay. I was craving elves.

More attempts at brayered sky. Nope don't have it down yet, but I still used them!

Simple but cute. I love how this turned out.

Ok gotta go house to clean and such before we go to the airport!

Finish it Friday

Some more of my Christmas Cards coming your way ..... Can you believe only a week left and it's here? Where did this year go?

This one I can say was inspired by a piece of decorated tape. Kraft paper and ink was all I needed. Turned out very much to my liking.

I have been loving the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses line since it came out. I know its not new but it is super cute! I mean come on look at that reindeer.

I made a lot of cards with Dasher. I really think he's a winner for a fast card.

Of course I had to make a purple card....Why can't snow be purple?

Where there is one purple card there is another. I love this set. It's so peaceful. Even better ,no Nesties, it was cut using the Cricut.

Yup still not feeling the love for the wizard. It has scarred me for life! Thank goodness for Cricut!

More holiday cards for your enjoyment. I tell you I actually liked working on cards this year. I didn't feel pressure to get it done!

I have learned Basic Grey is my friend..except when it came time for coloring. still love the muted coloring on the presents though.

I love anything Santa!

This is by far my favorite card. I like the scene ,the dazzling diamonds glittering at the top of the snow and the flying reindeer.

Not my best work but I do like the stamped image. Puff paint rocks!

Ahhh my first try with nesties..... there is a long story behind this but let me just say they are not my friend and I still have a bruise to show for it. Again though I love the colors.

Spark it up!

Our first Fort Hood celebration was the amazing fireworks show for the 4th of July.

At the time my cousin was stationed here and we went with them to watch the show. I think that is the coolest thing about having family in active military, I have been stationed with cousins twice. We didn't partake of the awesome carnival rides because the lines were just way too long, but the kids had a fun time bouncing on Chris. After all he is only just a really big jungle gym.

Finish it Friday

Well here is the end of my daughter's 2007 album. Christmas is one of those repeat holidays that is getting difficult for me to scrap. It's getting harder as they get older to say hold still open them slowly for me to get pictures of everyone. Plus I want to enjoy being in the moment I often forget to take pictures till half way through opening. Well I can only vow to do better. After this Christmas I didn't really take all that many pictures for the next 2 years. Sad really, but my family falls into the if I don't take the pictures no one will and I was honestly getting tired of it. I was not liking my camera and as a result I can fit all of my kids 2008 /2009 in one album. I need to find my love again.

Finish it Friday

Man getting ready for a yard sale is some serious work. No wonder I rarely have them. To make matters more complicated its a 3 family yard sale and its here at my house where everything is being stored. It's been a bit hectic around here. Anyway for my Friday layout it is my last deployment layout for awhile.

One more down! I really miss scrapping right now. I hope after this yard sale i can sit down and finish and get where I need to be!

The day after Thanksgiving in El Paso we got a huge snow storm. My kids take after mom and love the snow! Here are just a few of the pictures we took that day. The snowflake doesn't show the glitter paint its smeared with but it's there. I have not sat down to scrap book in a few weeks but here's and update approx. only 13 more layouts until I am caught up to 2010~ you heard here first people! I need to get cracking! I am so excited!

I loved our pumpkin patch in Las Cruses, New Mexico. It was the fun part of the fall season. There was always so much to do, the corn maze was incredible, and the food...mmmmm. Nothing like getting roasted corn on the cob. We would then take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and go get our pumpkins for Halloween. I think among the things I miss from military moving this is one of the top 5.

Finish it Friday

I have so been drawn to simple pages lately. I like how clean lines and a few embellishments work for a picture. It was also my first time playing with my Cricut software my son got me for Mother's Day and welding cuts together. In fact I need to do that more. I have not had the software to play with for so long, I forgot I had it! Then the metal letters. I have a tub full of alphabets I forget I have. Need to use those up as well. Scrap from your stash people, its amazing what you can find buried.

Finish It Friday

Most kids get into Legos at an early age. Kyla waited until she was almost 9. Then it was I want this set of legos and this set. Here she is putting her first set together which is the workplace of Spongebob Squarepants... The Krusty Krab. It took her a few hours and a few mishaps but it turned out great and she still has it in her room to this day. I am starting to see why they super glue sets together though. I can not tell you how many repairs we have had to do.
I didn't have any lego paper but the polka dot cuttlebug folder came in handy. I tell you I'd be lost without it. Hope you guys have a scrappy weekend.

How fun Kyla's 4th page just happened to fall on this week! my stamping of stars for pp didn't turn out so straight, but I do love how the layout came together.

I also managed to use up more of my stash which is the name of the game and stuff I had been hoarding for YEARS! Sometimes even with limited options you can surprise yourself. And look at baby Kiersten..she's not that tiny anymore and talking up a storm. We miss those guys!

I have no idea what the heck happened to my daughter to make her so expressive during this period in 07, I think this was a turning point for in her personality when she realized it was okay to goof off and be silly. I mean really with parents like Chris and I she couldn't have figured that out sooner? Late Bloomer I guess!

She may want to smack me around when she realizes I put this up for the world to see , but you know what that face is worth it!

Finish It Friday

This is a layout of my daughters First Communion in El Paso. I wasn't sure what direction to go with these photos , but I think they ended up nice and not overly done.
She looked so pretty in her dress...

Only 94 more pages to go!

Finish it Friday

Did I mention I had only 100 pages to do to be completely caught up with all the pictures I have of my family in scrapbooks up to 2010?

I need to find a ticker that would allow me to count down my pages. I am on fire and seeing that number makes me just giddy!

So here is the next in line for Kyla's album.

I have noticed I am using more off colors with greens for St. Patty's layouts and I like it! I also like that I was able to complete this with stuff I had in my room and not have to go buy anything.
I am however looking forward to the day I can hit Archiver's or Joann's again.

I struck it big last week with my friend Kim's new husband finally was relesed from his lease at his apt. and they had to sell stuff. I now have a new solid table in my room which I have been needing because the party table I was using was too flimsy when I stamped. This of course caused a rearrange. Here's what my room looks like now.and what it looked like before...
And I am also thinking though that I need to find a brand of cardstock and stick with it and learn its colors that way I always know what I have on hand. I have a small pile of cardstock and I am running out of the colors I actually will use. Time to just purge and start with a clean slate. But what do I go with Bazzill? SU? American Crafts? What are your thoughts?

Finish it Friday

Mother's Day is Sunday so here's a reminder to make her day special. Here are a few cards that I made to celebrate the special moms in my life.

These were what I was knee deep into when I was challenged to do that color Q challenge and when I should have been scrapbooking. But now I can move on to my pages!
